Students:
Only students who have been accepted to an institution of higher education can request a student visa at the Consulate.
The process of issuing a student visa takes 1 week from the moment all the necessary documentation has been presented.
Notice - During the summer months of June-September it takes a minimum of 2 weeks to issue a student visa.
- The passport in which the visa will be issued remains at the consulate during this time.
- Your passport must be valid for at least 12 months to recieve a 6 month visa and at least 18 months to receive a one year visa.
- The student requesting the visa must come in person to the consulate.
Adults
You must bring with you:
- The request form for a student visa.
- Two passport-sized photos. The photos must be focused, frontal, with a light background and with the applicant's eyes open.
- The original acceptance letter from the school you will be attending and a copy. The letter must state your name exactly as it appears in your passport.
- Proof of payment to the school
- If you are requesting a student visa and are not an American citizen you must prove residency here, such as a green card or visa. Proof of residency does not guarantee receipt of a visa.
- A copy of your airline ticket to Israel.
- The fee for a student visa is $42 cash, credit card or money order. You may collect your visa in person or pay an additional $9 and have it sent via FedEx. Delivery with FedEx may take up to one additional week.
Minors
Minors (persons younger than 18 years) requesting a student visa must come to the consulate in person together with at least one parent.
If the parents are divorced, they are still required to sign an affidavit before a notary public declaring their approval of the request for a student visa.
If one of the parents is deceased you must bring the death certificate to the consulate with you.
